The Manager Participant Engagement is an exciting career opportunity with a leading company in the retirement and defined contribution industry. As a Manager Participant Engagement your focus is simple: lead a field team of office staff, advisors and/or counselors focused on helping government employees prepare for a successful retirement by helping them to replace the income they earned while working. This is done through developing and executing upon goals that align to a growth and marketing strategy that maximizes plan participation, assets and the use of Empower Advisory Services and products in an assigned geographic area.
This role has full responsibility for all regional office administrative staff, Retirement Plan Advisors and Retirement Plan Counselors; including: recruitment, training, coaching, development, performance management, and expense management. The role may extend to the targeting, pursuing and closing new plans for Empower Government Markets, resulting in additional assets under management. Extensive relationship building and navigation of prospective accounts is a key aspect of the role.
This Manager will oversee a team of Retirement Plan Advisors, Counselors and Administrative Assistants in Texas. The Manager must be based in Texas.
What you will do
  • Lead and manage a regional team(s) with the purpose of executing on a regional growth strategy and business plan that identifies new business opportunities for maximizing defined contribution plan (457(b), 403(b), 401(k)) participation, assets and savings rates as well as improving the participant s overall diversification and wealth accumulation and distribution strategy
  • Maximize the regional adoption and use of Empower products and services, including but not limited to Managed Accounts through Empower Advisory Services
  • Lead by creating an environment of safety, autonomy, high-accountability, support, coaching and feedback that fosters an environment of employee high performance, engagement, learning and career development
  • Ensure that the regional team is adhering to a consistent service model by using Empower technological resources and counseling processes while adhering to corporate policies and procedures
  • As the Supervisory Principal, ensures that all regulatory and fiduciary rules and standards are adhered to by tracking and monitoring the associated records as well as delivering supervisory reviews
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance service activities, compliance requirements and corporate/industry policies and procedures
  • Track, measure and review results of performance of Retirement Plan Advisors and Counselors against established performance benchmarks
  • Build strong partnerships with key regional personnel, plan sponsor representatives and internal and external stakeholders in an effort to maximize the distribution and use of Empower products and services and carry out strategic initiatives
  • Serve as liaison to the client relationship management and sales leadership roles
  • Analyze and control all expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Participate in the delivery of sales presentation along with Regional Sales Directors and key members of senior management
  • Successfully exceed all additional expectations defined by the organization and plan sponsor
What you will bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7 - 10 years' experience in the financial services industry
  • Financial services designations preferred, such as the CFP, ChFC, CRC, CRPC, etc., or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment
  • An understanding of management, training, coaching & leadership principles
  • Possess leadership principles of influence and persuasion to lead teams as opposed to authority and coercion
  • Ability to challenge people to change and adapt their behavior and take action to develop themselves and support organizational initiatives and exceed goals
  • Ability to identify and execute on strategies that support corporate goals
  • Ability to develop others through training, coaching & leadership to improve their performance
  • FINRA Series 6, 26, 63, 65 registrations required within established timeframes

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Base Salary Range
$ 89,200.00-126,025.00
