Maintenance Technician Job at Valley Packaging Industries, Inc.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager and/or the Maintenance Technician II, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the troubleshooting, repair and replacing of equipment. This position assists in all areas requiring general maintenance and repair of facility equipment and property structures; and plays an important role in ensuring the premises remain clean. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations. Performs other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists with performing minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary.
2. Assists with maintaining or repairing of equipment as necessary to maximize safety and production time.
3. Assists with the supervision of the activities of the program participants in the Maintenance Department and helps coordinate their schedules with the other maintenance employees.
4. Assists in setting up jobs and new equipment as directed.
5. May order parts and maintain parts inventory for maintenance or repair of equipment.
6. Assists with the preventative maintenance programs for the agency and equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work performed is generally within the medium range as defined by the United States Department of Labor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Related course work at a technical school preferred.
3. Minimum one (1) year maintenance experience in a production environment or equivalent.
4. Demonstrated common sense, judgment, and communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
