General Description:

This position will primarily service clinics in St. Louis, MO Area, but occasionally travel to Kansas City, KS, and Indianapolis, IN.

The Maintenance Technician will perform construction, maintenance, and repair in Chiropractor Clinics and facilities following recognized procedures and techniques of the carpentry trade and using hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, table saws, and related carpentry tools.

The Maintenance Technician will also practice preventive maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment; and comply with federal regulations governing safety, environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemical substances and materials common to construction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
  • Experience with at least three years of successful experience in the maintenance carpentry or building trades is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License as you will be operating a company vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a maintenance carpentry vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program in maintenance carpentry.
  • Moderate carpentry, electrical, and plumbing experience.
  • Experience with Senior Living Communities, property management, or strip mall commercial developments.
  • Good physical condition and strength with an ability to work on weekends, if needed.

Skills:

  • Carpentry ability which includes the use of small hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices, mechanical equipment, x-ray machines, and materials applicable to the carpentry trade.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics is required. Computer literacy is required.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on an occasion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and alteration of building structures and facilities according to work orders or verbal instructions by using hand and power tools.
  • Install drywall; finished hardware such as door locks, hinges, and door checks; floor coverings such as linoleum tile, carpet squares, and LVP.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment runs smoothly and can be utilized efficiently; measures should also be taken to prevent the physical condition from deteriorating.
  • Repair, assemble, install, and maintain office equipment.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, structures, etc. to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Prioritize requests to ensure timely and professional completion.
  • Record repairs/work via the work-order tracking system.
  • Comply with all OSHA, ADA, Medulla, and other safety policies
  • Perform other maintenance tasks including but not limited to painting, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and pest removal.
  • Notify management of strange scenarios, possible compliance concerns, or recurring issues.
  • Remain current on Medulla policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Attend relevant training and events aimed at increasing professional knowledge and promoting success within the position.
  • Accept and request coaching from qualified sources including supervisors and managers.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • The schedule will mostly consist of a 7:00 a.m. -- 3:30 p.m. weekly schedule with the understanding that there will be times when overtime will be required based on the amount of work required.
