Metal Fabricator- $3,000 Sign On Bonus

Merritt Aluminum Products is now hiring for experienced machine operators who are available to work 2nd shift 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM Monday through Thursday.
Hiring Range: $20-$22/HR dependent on experience.

• Alumatech aluminum miter saw
• Geka Hydracrop Ironworker
• Fender rolling machine
• Drill press
• Steel Chop Saw
• Repetitive movement including bending and lifting of up to 50 pounds is required to load and unload materials

Essential Functions:

• Perform manual job duties during the fabrication of a wide variety of equipment.
• Responsible for the Fabrication, construction, and assembly of polyethylene and metal materials with various poly and metal work equipment including Amada machine, forming machines, welding equipment, lathes, break, punch press, sheers, miter saw, jointers, drill presses, grinders, double head saw, dado saw, band saws, drill press, belt sander, notcher and hand tools.
• Perform additional duties including: confer with other staff, interpret and document work orders; clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment; conducts preventative maintenance.
• Maintains safe work habits in accordance with safety policy and performs required safety inspections according to company safety procedures.
• Regular and reliable in person attendance

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately interprets work orders to select the correct materials and perform equipment set-up.
• Performs first piece and random inspections of completed work according to Company quality standards.
• Proactively identifies defects or equipment issues to minimize scrap materials and rework of parts.
• Identifies the most efficient way to safely complete their scheduled assignments
• Skilled in all aspects of operating their equipment, including advanced set-up, equipment programming and efficiently transitioning between orders.

Working Conditions:

• Shift work and occasional overtime.
• Warehouse or shop environment with fluctuating temperature depending on weather.
• Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Lift and/or carry a maximum of 40lbs. occasionally to frequently.
• Pushing and/or push a maximum of 50lbs.
• Constant (67%-100% of time) standing, walking, grasping, and fine dexterity required.
• Frequent (34%-66% of time) bending, forceful grasping including grasping with vibrations, and reading/writing.
• Occasional (1%-33% of time) sitting, squatting, twisting, climbing, and reaching to floor.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
