Machine Laser Calibration Technician

Located in Northwest Pennsylvania, 30 miles southeast of Erie, MPE Machine Tool, Inc. is a leader in machine tool retrofits and rebuilds. We provide complete mechanical and electrical services including design, on-site repairs, and manufacture of custom machine tools to meet specific customer requirements. Our customer base spans many industries including defense, steel, aerospace, and energy. Due to growing demand, we are searching for a technician to specialize in laser applications for MPE’s machine tool projects.

SUMMARY

A successful candidate will be ready to perform laser work in support of the many functions performed by MPE Machine Tool, Inc. This person will be responsible for laser studies, alignments, and calibrations on machine tools, and related tasks, employing excellent math and geometric skills, critical thinking skills, and cutting-edge software. Service of machine tool equipment will also be a function of this position. Travel is required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent mathematical skills
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Experience with CAD is preferred
• Experience with or willingness to learn laser-specific software
• Attention to detail
• 3 years of experience in related field
• Ability to work well independently or in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• 50%-75% travel likely

Pay Scale: $22-$30/hr, commensurate with experience
