Logistics Supervisor

PURPOSE:

Lead and manage warehouse operations, including planning, loading, unloading, and shipping and receiving. Confirms and records the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping. Develops and issues work schedules and deadlines based on workload to assure customer KPIs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• With assistance from production supervisors, manages all process steps.
• Train warehouse, shipping and receiving associates or all duties including how to operate forklifts, tuggers, etc.
• Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
• Monitor storeroom and warehouse material usage
• Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency
• Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies
• Maintain accurate records and files of inventory usage
• Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
• Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel
• Implement discipline and termination procedures
• Prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary
• Assist with budget preparation and administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or 3 years’ equivalent supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel & SAP
• A self-starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others
• Focused and target driven with a positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
• Must be fluent in English.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Able to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and directors, and to present to groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Values and considers the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties.
• One to two years' experience in automotive logistics

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

• Location: Charleston, SC
• Schedule: 8:00 – 5:00pm.
• Assignment Start: ASAP
