JOB SUMMARY: Leadership responsibilities include recruiting, training and guiding Life Enrichment associates during campus activities/programs. Manage and assist staff with scheduling and implementation of all on/off campus events, maintaining bulletin boards and all resident announcements (calendars). Handle and stay within LE budget guidelines to include purchasing of supplies, hiring entertainers and all other expenses related to the department. Work closely with the Director of Resident & Family Services for ongoing initiatives such as: design and implement a new resident welcome program that embraces Life Enrichment activities that guarantee VSB residents live fully, live well; develop partnerships with neighboring communities and other resources for idea exchanges and creative workshops; participate in the yearly operating plan and budget; attend monthly resident programs committee meeting to assure we are meeting their needs and help coordinate more resident-run programs; and, participate in monthly one-on-one brainstorming sessions to insure “Living Fully, Living Well” philosophy is inherent to all resident programming. Attention to and perpetuation of the core values and mission of Villa St. Benedict are essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

· College preferred with training or previous experience in the area of enrichment programs or a related field working with older adults.

· Previous supervisory experience

· Experienced in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet research

B. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:

· Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

· Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in planning activities and using campus venues for multiple VSB-sponsored events.

· Able to fill in for or work scheduled activities/events, includes evenings and weekends.

· Project oriented and multi-tasker.

· Ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families, visitors and collaborate with VSB staff.

· Ability to perform all physical aspects of the job, including driving a bus.

· Ability to respond to emergencies calmly.

· Must have good organizational and team-building skills.

· Must demonstrate patience with residents who are hard of hearing and physically frail.

· Must maintain resident confidentiality.

C. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATON:

· Valid Illinois Drivers License.

3. Inter-Relationships: Works closely residents, their families, VSB staff, volunteers and outside community contacts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
