LOCATION: Portland, OR – Hybrid position, but must be local to be in-office weekly

SALARY: $56-61k

SCHEDULE:Full-Time / Direct Hire, Hybrid after training

INDUSTRY:Legal, Medical Billing, Legal Support work

THE ROLE

Strong attention to detail and your ability to follow through on document requests, docketing, and direct client contact will be the key to success. Your team has an open-door policy and frequent meetings to ensure good support.

In a manner consistent with the mission and values of the organization, the legal assistant will use prior software knowledge and skills to adapt to an internal system and support the team with document revisions, organization of depositions, meetings and document requests. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and able to collaborate with various internal and external teams. If you do not have the answer, you will not be afraid to reach out and ask for help.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform administrative duties including monitoring, responding to email, data entry, and maintaining organized systems for tracking tasks and deadlines.
  • Provide practice support to attorneys and paralegals to ensure deadlines are met
  • Review and proofread, pleadings, letters and hearing notices
  • Implement document dispute holds and review strategy prior to distribution. Review and proofread, pleadings, letters and hearing notices
  • Organize case information within databases and maintain lists on assigned cases.
  • Manage legal files and requirements as related to responses, motions, and exhibits

SKILLS AND MUST-HAVES

  • 3 years of legal experience within law firm or in-house
  • Strong skill working with spreadsheets, claim/billing files
  • Must enjoy working in a heavy document practice and be able to manage, prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong confidence and competence in corresponding with and supporting Paralegals, Attorneys, and Physicians’ offices.
