Denver Housing Authority seeks an experienced Leasing Agent for a mixed-income/tax credit property. Must have the ability to prepare Comparable Market Analyses and clearly understand a property’s immediate competition and its place relative to other properties. Must be able to connect to community resources and key employers critical to maintaining high occupancy. In addition, must maintain regular contact with persons on the Wait List and purge it quarterly. Based upon the results of the Comparable Market Analyses, must make recommendations to management regarding the need to offer applicant incentives and/or resident concessions, yet continue to maximize rents as market conditions change. Must join and maintain membership in AFSCME Local 535.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma.
  • College degree in marketing, business management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with marketing and leasing affordable and market rate multifamily rental housing.
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience. Human Services experience helpful. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
  • Must possess Rent Calculation Certification. LIHTC certification required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist or equivalent required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Types 25 wpm.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures sufficient to be able to process various types of paper work associated with office support duties.
  • Ability to deal effectively with community agencies to develop and assist in delivery of services to applicants and residents.
  • Ability to represent DHA at community meetings, functions and interagency work groups.
  • Daily attendance in the office.
  • Works effectively with angry, hostile and/or verbally abusive individuals.
  • Valid Colorado driver license.

  • Sick leave is accrued at 6 hours per month.
  • Annual leave (vacation) for new employees is accrued at 8 hours per month.

Pay: $22.31 - $27.89 per hour
