Lead Engineer

You will be working with a group of highly skilled engineers to build the breakthrough solutions our trainers and campers need, all while ensuring the system is stable and scalable.

This role is fully remote based in Latin America (Argentina or Brazil).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build relationships with team members across engineering and other departments to jointly make technical decisions that will deliver high quality, reliable, and scalable solutions
• Lead the team through technical decisions and best frameworks to use
• Help estimate projects with deadlines, costs, and required resources
• Write highly scalable and resilient code to deliver engaging user experiences
• Contribute to building a diverse offering of web applications for both internal and external stakeholders
• Create technical documentation to support code
• Champion CI/CD best practices and implementation
• Identify areas to improve and scale our architecture and application design
• Participate in research efforts to support the improvement of code and architecture
• Maintain fluent knowledge of company's core products and services
• Participate in programs that align to our mission, vision, and values of company

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in modern javascript frontend development (JS, Typescript, React, Angular, Vue)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts
• Proficiency with SQL (MySQL & Postgres)
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Ability to communicate efficiently across the organization
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Experience leading remote, distributed teams

NICE TO HAVE

• 5+ years of backend development experience (preferably in Java or Node.js)
• Previous work experience with Elm, Elixir or PHP
• Experience with functional languages
• Experience in a BDD or TDD environment
• Experience in building web applications with accessibility in mind
• Experience with cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Experience with Google Firebase including Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
• Experience with domain and hosting management (DNS, CDN, etc.)
