Greylock Energy is seeking a Land Specialist to work in our Charleston, West Virginia office to provide land support and to assist with all aspects of work within the Land Department. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with responsibilities within the Land Department; including, but not limited to, all aspects of Land Management, Owner Relations, Division Orders, and Land Administration.
  • Responsible for reviewing the company’s land records in Pandell, and well records in Quorum to ensure data integrity.
  • Review outside Division Orders and Joint Interest Billing’s in comparison to company records to verify uniformity and data accuracy between Companies.
  • Research internal and external records to determine lease and well ownership and interests (WI/NRI).
  • Review Ownership Reports, Abstracts, and Title Opinions as they are received to verify proper ownership for lease and royalty payments.
  • Document preparation: Letter Agreements, Assignments, Declarations of Pooling, and Affidavit of Heirships.
  • Assist with quality control of various company systems (Pandell/Quorum/ArcGIS).
  • Assist with special projects and due diligence on trades, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Assist in identifying and promoting opportunities for improvement to generate more efficiencies within the department.
  • Ensures the ongoing accuracy of corporate records for reporting purposes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Management or a related field, or equivalent experience of 5+ years of in-house land, administrative, contract, or paralegal experience is required.
  • A thorough understanding of the exploration and production functions of an oil and gas company is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyze contracts, leases, rights of ways, deeds, wills, title opinions, Joint Operating Agreements, Unit Declarations and other legal instruments is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office is required.
  • Working knowledge or understanding of Land Management Systems (Quorum/Pandell preferred) is preferred.
  • Land experience in Appalachia (PA, WV, KY) is required and land experience in the Rockies (UT, WY) is preferred.
