Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN designs, develops, and manufactures the energy components used in implantable devices for a variety of Medtronic businesses.
MECC is looking to hire a Lab Technician III with hands-on experience in equipment and process development to join a growing team developing the equipment for Battery and Capacitor manufacturing capacity expansion projects.
The Lab Technician III collaborates with the engineering team to design, develop, and deploy of custom-made automated, servo-mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical manufacturing equipment.
A Day in the Life

As the Lab Technician III , you will:

  • Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Work from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Perform equipment installation, modification, upgrades, qualification, maintenance, and calibration
  • Assist with process development through characterization, OQ, PQ, and launch.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage project timelines to execute deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Ability to solve problems and innovate solutions.
  • Experience working in a lab setting
