KIDKARE SUPERVISOR

Summary: The Kidkare supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and coordinating services and staff of the Kidkare babysitting program at The Mandel JCC. The Kidkare supervisor is also responsible for making sure the needs of the Mandel JCC members are consistently met and issues resolved in an appropriate and professional manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Recruit, train, and develop the Kidkare team
  • Actively work daily with the children as part of the Kidkare team.
  • Develop and implement program operating policies and activities as required; develop cost estimates for future program needs.
  • Monitor the daily reservation system to maintain safe staff to child ratios
  • Plan, develop, schedule, and/or provide in-service training and evaluation of child care staff.
  • Order and maintain child care supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain attendance reports for the Kidcare program.
  • Assist child care center staff in preparing for and presenting engaging programs and activities
  • Ensure that problems encountered by staff are resolved; alter policies or procedures to ensure smooth operation of program.
  • Respond to member comments, feedback, concerns including comment cards
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Support the Mission of the Mandel JCC.
  • Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by The Mandel JCC
  • Promote The J’s services and activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of Childcare equipment
  • Assist with keeping the The J well stocked and clean
  • Upholds the professional standards of his/her field and always acts in a manner that is consistent with the best interests of The J and will protect and enhance its reputation and standing in the community.
  • Adheres to The J’s code of ethics and avoids any real or perceived conflicts of interest.
  • Shows respect for co-workers and members and an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of the Agency’s staff, members, and audiences.
  • Aspires to excellence in all aspects of his/her work and serves as a model for others.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Adheres to all Mandel JCC protocols, procedures, rules, and policies.
  • Wear Mandel JCC Staff ID badge and attend appropriate staff meetings.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to three years of management/supervisory experience
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Financial management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication, decision making, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in customer service management and quality service delivery.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
