Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering design, and construction management services in support of the US Department of State along with other US federal agencies.

The Junior CADD Specialist will assist the Government Project Managers in determining/collecting end-user requirements at the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Facilities Services Directorate (FSD).

This is a 5-year project and contingent on the contract award. The place of performance is at Pentagon Reservation and in the NCR.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gather data and prepare detailed drawings of building alterations and additions including plans, details, sections, and elevations from rough sketches and outlines with differing levels of detail, format, models, or oral instructions while developing solutions and details using the CADD System to complete drafting assignments.
  • Perform quality assurance compliance reviews to ensure CADD deliverables conform to governing CADD standards.
  • Repair or correct noncompliant data elements within CADD files to comply with established data standards.
  • Filing and indexing drawings to a common Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) repository and format.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Associate’s Degree with an emphasis in drafting, geography or related physical or geospatial science such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Cartography, Information Technology, Computer Science, Urban Studies/ Planning or Construction related field
  • Experienced using AutoCAD software to create, modify, convert and standardize new or existing CADD drawings
  • At least 2 years using AutoCAD software
  • Must have an understanding of security requirements associated with handling design documents
  • Able to comprehend and interpret DoD project planning and programming of design and construction projects, DoD A/E and Design/Construction services
  • Specialized construction subject matter experts with expert-level experience in any of the abovementioned
  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
