General Summary:*

Knowledge of the residential/commercial electrical trade, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify and hazards or issues.
Conduct electrical preventative maintenance as scheduled and assists in updating and monitoring of preventative maintenance records.
Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components, and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that the components are compatible.
Conduct electrical safety inspection of new equipment.
Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Maintain and create Activity Hazard Analysis.
Performs repairs on a variety of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, building systems, and other critical systems.
Maintaining current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted.
Assist others as part of the maintenance team as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
Hold a current journeyman electrician State License or have passed the Journeyman Electrician exam in accordance with Kansas State requirements (www.kansas.gov) at the full-performance start date.
At least four (4) years of experience in commercial electrical work.
Knowledge and understanding of National Electrical Codes, state and local electrical codes/regulations.
Knowledge of OSHA and EM-385-1-1 safety standards and procedures.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and job specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively with various departments in order to coordinate repairs.

Valid Driver License required.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable
