Janitor / Housekeeper (Houma FQHC) Job at Start Corporation
Founded in 1985, START (Supportive Treatment And Rehabilitation for Terrebonne) Corporation was founded to help with mental health services for the Terrebonne parish area. Since then the company has expanded to include physical health care and permanent supportive housing across the state.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 or older
- Good organizational skills as well as strong hygienic practice
- Prior janitorial/housekeeping experience required
Job Duties / Skills Required:
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
- Maintain cleaning inventory
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
- Clean and maintain restrooms
- Washing and clean windows and mirrors
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Operate floor scrubbers
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Promptly cleans as needed anything that arises from guests, patients and or staff
- Notifies supervisor of any supplies that are needed to maintain cleanliness of building
- Ensures proper coverage of duties by notifying supervisors/staff of breaks, leave, and schedule changes
- All other duties assigned by Administrative Manager or Program Director

- Communicates respectfully and effectively with peers, staff and visitors
- Safely and effectively uses appropriate tools and cleaners for the specific types of duties
- Consistently uses warning signs or avoids performing duties when doing so could disrupt or endanger patients or staff

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
