Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Industrial Designer Staff who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Industrial Designer Staff who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axiom’s Design and Manufacturing Manager with leading user-centered design efforts, developing concepts, and building prototypes. A successful individual will mature products through the design process, conduct in-depth research, evaluate engineering needs, develop mockups, and perform user testing. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficient time management, and the ability to take initiative. This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture and Environmental Design, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of professional design experience, aerospace experience a plus
• Design Thinking
• Strong Understanding of Human Factors and Ergonomics
• Ability to Conduct In-Depth Research and User Testing
• Keen Sense of Aesthetics (Color/Material/Finish)
• CAD Skills – Rhino, Solidworks, KeyShot, Blender
• Strong Presentation Skills
• Proficient Demonstration of Designs through Sketching, Rendering, and Modeling
• Proficient Use of Hand and Power Tools
• Knowledge of Materials, Fasteners, and Manufacturing Processes
• Operation of 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Vinyl Cutters, and CNC Routers is a plus

• Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
