Our team is searching for an Electrical & Instrument Construction Coordinator to work at our Geismar, LA site where the CM Capital Project Group executes capital investment projects throughout the four CM Geismar plants. We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering support to capital projects <$25M for the N-CMN group.

You will be required to provide technical support for Electrical and Instrumentation construction, commissioning and start-up activities. Your primary responsibilities will include management of the construction contractors with regards to safety, quality, schedule and cost.

As an Electrical & Instrument Construction Coordinator you create chemistry by…

• Demonstrating your knowledge and experience in providing Electrical and Instrument guidance to offer bid package preparation, technical support to Construction contractors, Project Engineering, Turnaround and Maintenance to support Large Project execution.
• Leveraging your work experience in Electrical & Instrument capital projects and/or maintenance, to monitor construction, productivity, and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance. You will also provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures/work instructions.
• Managing and overseeing the day-to-day Electrical and Instrumentation construction execution, commissioning, and start-up support of projects.
• Relying on your keen attention to detail will be essential as you verify and approve time sheets and invoices to validate accuracy with respect to work performance, quality, construction contractor deliverables and recommend approval for payment.
• Utilizing your unwavering commitment to workplace safety to lead safety culture and implement Construction EHS Plan for projects.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Utilizing your working and/or educational knowledge of capital project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities associated with process equipment such as power distribution systems, instrumentation, analyzers and control systems.
• Having in-depth knowledge of industrial construction management and solid understanding of the economic issues related to large capital project execution, to deal with technical issues related to construction management on a regular basis.
• Possessing strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively within a diverse environment as you direct construction and maintenance personnel.
• Working well as a team player to support the Project Team in the review and authorization of field changes.
