HVAC Service Specialist Job at Greenhill School
Summary
The detail-oriented HVAC service specialist will install, maintain, and repair heating/cooling systems. The person in this role will have experience in cleaning HVAC systems and performing maintenance procedures as well as providing emergency repairs when necessary.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections of refrigeration units and isolated heating and ventilating units including boilers and air-conditioning equipment, making necessary adjustments or repairs
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls, safety valves, and automatic gas valves
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools and maintain equipment in effective and safe working conditions including ensuring an appropriate back stock of supply inventory
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment and diagnosis electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems thus ensuring effectiveness and safety
- Commit to keeping roofs and guttering systems free of clutter and debris from both jobs performed and from natural sources
- Assist in performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
- Enter and maintain records and notes about assigned work orders including the timely completion of all work order requests
- Perform other maintenance tasks as assigned
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants preferred
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of remote-managed mechanical systems such as Tracer Ensemble
- Self-motivated, independent, and flexible with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet prescribed deadlines while handling multiple assignments
