Role

Provides full Generalist HR support a growing manufacturing facility. Serves as employee advocate for unit to assure fair and consistent administration of local employment policies and practices. Consults with facility leadership team on a broad range of HR services including, but not limited to HR policies and processes. Identifies HR issues related to short-term and long-term business plans and objectives; develops and implements initiatives to address those issues. Continually upgrades the organization’s capacity to attract, retain and manage the talent it needs to succeed. Integrates work with that or other functions.


Recruiting & Retention

  • Partner with plant leadership on the acquisition of talent, projected headcount, and workforce planning
  • Source applicants through innovative recruiting techniques for manufacturing plant sites in Griffin, GA and Sparks, NV
  • Determine qualified applicants through various screening processes and assessments tools
  • Coordinate second level screening and interviews for applicants with other members of management
  • Prepare and extend offers to qualified candidates
  • Initiate pre-employment screening process for selected candidates
  • Coordinate and performs various areas of the new hire onboarding process
  • Communicate directly with placement agencies for temporary positions
  • Conduct, review, analyze and report Exit Interviews data


Employee Relations


  • Embrace, support, and drive growing business demands in a changing environment
  • Prepare and make recommendations regarding the application of policies and procedures
  • Educate plant leaders and associates on new or updated of company policies/procedures or programs
  • Proactively seek opportunities to maintain a Union-free work environment
  • Enforce fair and consistent practices of company policy, procedures, and regulations
  • Manage day-to-day employee relation matters including but not limited to questions, concerns, employee investigations, terminations
  • Participate in initiatives to help cultivate culture expectations and improve engagement by conducting surveys and facilitating feedback discussion and actionable plans to improve critical areas
  • Act as coach and advisor to Team Leaders and Group Leaders
  • Make recommendations to improve employee engagement and reduce turnover
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate roundtable discussions, town halls and plant meetings as needed


HR Administration & Support


  • Act as a primary POC for all associates as on-site liaison
  • Provide full HR administrative support to plant associates and leaders
  • Maintain/update employee information in ADP system, as well as personnel records
  • Apply subject matter expertise to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Encourages employee participation in Corporate Responsibility efforts and company events
  • Transparently communicates company, location, and HR-related messages across the plant(s)
  • Development of reporting Dashboard/Metrics to monitor and analyze plant changes and trends
  • Adhere to Rinnai’s Policies, Codes of Conduct and Core Values
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required


Performance Management


  • Coordination of activities in preparation for the annual performance review process
  • Manage consistent execution of compensation programs including merit, bonus, and promotional counseling
  • Provide guidance to leaders regarding corrective action and performance improvement plans/individual development plan


Training & Development


  • Provides career planning and development counsel to employees and leaders using platforms such as succession planning
  • Assess training gaps necessary to develop leaders, institute lean principles, and enhance soft skills (Oz, Develop U, QuickStart, Southern Crescent, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Safety department to coordinate safety program training initiatives


Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Business or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years generalist HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge or understanding of continuous improvement or Kaizen methodologies
