Job Title: House Manager/Butler (New York, NY & Southampton, NY)

Job description

A High-Profile Family in NYC seeks to hire an experienced and professional House Manager/Butler for their private residence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining day-to-day operation of the residence
• Providing excellent formal service to principals and all guests
• Assisting with facilities and household maintenance tasks
• Acting as the gatekeeper for principals; liaising with staff as well as vendors and contractors
• Overseeing household calendars and providing prior notification to the family and staff of the scheduling of events and estate maintenance/repair activities
• Coordinating with the Chef to assist with kitchen/dining room operations and oversee daily meal service
• Providing formal butler meal service
• Conducting inventory and procuring household supplies.
• Maintaining all indoor and outdoor facilities; includes fleet of vehicles, pool, ballroom, spa, gym, garage, wine cellars, elevator, etc.
• Driving principals to and from engagements; from & to, pick-up & drop-offs
• Handling special requests, errands, and related duties as needed
• Communicating with Estate Manager for any issues, reporting, etc.

Schedule: Monday – Friday in NYC with occasional support during weekends.

Summer Schedule: In Southampton, NY requirement to live-in on the property during 5 working days. Occasional weekend support is also required.

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000

Requirements

• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience with longevity in previous positions
• Previous experience in a large, fine home with a large team of staff
• Outstanding references from both current and previous employers
• Minimum High school or equivalent degree
• Hospitality certifications or private residence background is a plus
• Superb command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills; includes Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet, and e-mail
• Knowledge of complex house systems (lighting, heating and cooling, security) including Smart Home systems (i.e. Kaleidoscope, Nest, Google Home, etc.)
• Professional, polished, and poised at all times
• Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion
• Ability to work independently and on a large team of staff
• Flexible schedule with availability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Wine-service experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid passport with the flexibility to travel
• Must have valid US work authorization
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must follow all CDC recommendations against Covid-19
