About the Role

Pagaya is looking for a Head of Business Management to work alongside our President. As Pagaya continues to grow and scale, we are seeking an organized, strategic and results-oriented Business Manager. In this role, you will have wide exposure and involvement across Pagaya, our clients, and our partners, and build upon our company culture.

Reporting to the President, you will directly contribute to a wide range of internal and external-facing projects. Your days will not be uniform: a day at Pagaya in this role could include driving organization-wide change, creating efficiencies with our current commercial business, bringing various leaders/stakeholders together, data analysis, project management, tackling operational complexities, or creating presentations.

The ideal candidate possesses an exceptional EQ and IQ, is highly data-driven and is an energetic and optimistic person who is able to multitask, communicate and work cross-functionally in a dynamic startup environment. To be successful, the Head of Business Management will need to be a top notch verbal, written and visual communicator, with a collaborative, no-ego, get it done mentality, learning agility and an uncanny ability to remember and track details.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrator: Partner with the various leaders of the company to drive our commercial business forward.
  • Strategic Advisor: Offer advice across a variety of issues and act as a brainstorming partner.
  • Implementer: Drive the the highest valued initiatives working with key leaders on behalf of the President
  • Project manager: planning, cross functional accountability, check-ins, and updates.
  • Extension to President: Act as an extension to the President - manage operations, weekly meeting support, status monitoring, follow ups with internal and external stakeholders, and bring people together

Ideal Profile / Experience:

  • Financial Services experience with Consumer Credit or prior experience supporting executives in a matrixed organization
  • Quantitative and analytical mindset
  • Good People skills to help drive alignment between business leaders
  • Global experience working across cultures/timezones
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Prior Experience as a Business Manager or Strategy/Ops professional directly supporting a CEO or C-Suite executive

Responsibilities

  • Be the quarterback to the President, making sure they are always prepared for meetings and conversations, both internal and external, and that they always circle back with meaningful follow ups and next steps.
  • Provide the President with regular updates on projects, personnel, and operational recommendations to support the growth of the business.
  • Serve as interim project leader for strategic initiatives as needed, working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment across teams and levels to drive business results.
  • Work with the President on company-wide communications and initiatives like bringing on new partners, developing existing partners, etc.
  • Defining and executing the roadmap to streamline various business verticals to align with the goals of the company.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; be a key representative of Pagaya to the team and market.
  • Make a strong contribution to the company culture, identifying initiatives, implementing programs, and acting as a go-to resource for the President team
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and brainstorming partner

Requirements

  • 10+ years of prior experience in a business management role supporting an executive team in a matrix organization
  • Prior knowledge in consumer finance, lending, credit, fintech or other relevant financial services verticals
  • A collaborative leader skilled at quickly building trust and working cross-functionally to lead and execute projects across levels and teams
  • Smart, thoughtful, humble, and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a knack for relationship building
  • Proven multi-tasker, able to track and manage multiple competing priorities, seek out the needed information to drive clear decisions, and effectively manage your own time
  • Mission-driven and passionate about helping Pagaya create a more efficient and equitable financial world
  • A team player who is comfortable pitching in and supporting team members, and able to work efficiently with distributed team members around the globe
  • A skilled visual communicator, known for framing information clearly to drive decision making, with experience building comprehensive, on-brand presentation decks for an executive audience
  • A trusted confidant who can serve as a thought partner to the President, maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality, and operate independently with mature and professional judgment

The ranges added below are for New York-based hires only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations other than NY may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. Pay range: $200,000-$250,000.
