Thompson Consulting Services is a full-service emergency response, disaster recovery and grant management consultancy headquartered in Maitland, FL. Thompson Consulting Services offers comprehensive solutions to support federal, state and local government entities, as well as private sector industries plan for and respond to a variety of disaster incidents, such as, hurricanes, tornados, floods, ice storms, wildfires, earthquakes, oil spills and other natural disasters.

Following a disaster or emergency incident that generates large amounts of debris, state or local governments may require the support of contracted disaster debris removal management, monitoring and accounting services.

The GIS Analyst position is responsible for supporting all aspects of Thompson’s GIS (Geographic Information System) team. The position requires coordination of work across many technical disciplines and may require coordination with other Thompson Consulting Services teams. The position will report to the GIS Manager and work out of the Maitland, FL, office with additional travel requirements as needed.

Duties:

Create, edit, and manage a spatial datasets in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.

Create publication and presentation quality maps for client deliverables

Support field teams with ESRI data collection apps tailored to specific projects

Standardize and organize large numbers of files and groups within ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise

Communicate complex GIS topics to other GIS professionals as well as non-GIS team members

Work with the data management team to analyze and QA/QC field-collected data

Create web maps, web mapping applications, dashboards, and other apps in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise

Maintain current knowledge of ESRI’s product development and other new and popular trends in the GIS field

Help field staff troubleshoot technical issues with third party apps

Maintain highly organized notes, manage time effectively, and track many different responsibilities and tasks at the same time

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required

Working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Minimum 3 years’ experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro required

Minimum 2 years’ experience with ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise required

Basic Python, JavaScript, or SQL coding language preferred but not required

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Flexibility to meet the rapidly changing schedules inherent to disaster recovery

Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed to meet critical deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
