Responsibilities

There is an exceptional opportunity available for the position of General Manager, Elizabethtown Operations. The position reports to the Director, Manufacturing Operations. The purpose, examples of work performed, and minimum qualifications of the position are as follows:

Purpose

The General Manager, Elizabethtown Operations maximizes the operating profitability and return on assets of the operation through the consistent fulfillment of customer expectations. With overall operational responsibility, the General Manager provides leadership direction on goal setting, process improvement, and problem resolution. The General Manager also selects, develops, and evaluates management associates to ensure the efficient overall operation of the function and ensures manufacturing strategies result in cost effective, on-time delivery of Altec's products.

Examples of Work Performed

• Leads the Operation to successfully meet its strategic and operating objectives in a manner consistent with overall corporate objectives, policies, and annual business plans.
• Drives the development of operation goals and objectives as well as providing leadership in the implementation and coordination of programs and policies.
• Champions the efficient and effective management of the operation, to ensure that strategies, policies, and operations are in concert with overall corporate goals.
• With senior management, directs review of operation's strategic position, including planning, scheduling, delegating, budgeting, and performance measurement, in order to ensure the ongoing development and profitability of the business unit.
• Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of subordinate managers who supervise associates in their respective areas.
• Works with Sales, Engineering, others on strategic initiatives

Minimum Qualifications (The job level may be adjusted to a higher level in the career path depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate)

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years' operational management experience with at least two years as a Plant Manager of a Manufacturing or Final Assembly operation.
• Demonstrated competency in the understanding of customer requirements; fosters a work environment where associates work together to efficiently produce quality products in a manner consistent with corporate policies and procedures. Excellent communication, coaching, mentoring, relationship management, and organization skills required.
