Freshwater Fish Specialist
The Animal Care Team is a vital part in the success of Blue Zoo. We offer our guests some incredible interaction opportunities with our animals, and it is the responsibility of the Animal Care Team to ensure our animals are healthy and well cared for.
Required skills:
4+ years of experience and competency with a variety of freshwater environments is required!
A good understanding of water chemistry and the nitrogen cycle
Ability to maintain freshwater plants and an understanding of the relationship between pH, KH, CO2 and algae in a planted tank
Competency with large fish
Experience maintaining sensitive species in freshwater
Experience maintaining freshwater plants
Understanding of filtration, life support systems etc.
Understanding of water chemistry/nitrogen cycle and the understanding of CO2, pH and algae in a planted tank a must!!
