Food Service Worker Job at AbilityFirst
Seasonal: June 19 to August 21, 2023
Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Position Description
Responsible for performing a wide variety of routine duties relating to the preparing, serving and storing food; and cleaning the kitchen, cafeteria and other serving/storage areas.
Primary Duties
- Receives, unpacks and stores food and supplies as they are received from vendors.
- Cleans and maintains refrigerators, freezers and food storage areas in an orderly fashion.
- Follows county operating procedures and maintains kitchen in accordance with San Bernardino County Health Department Food Service established standards.
- Assists in filling special requests such as special diets and special events
- Keeps track of invoices/shipping documents and gives to supervisor
- Buses dishes, washes dishes, washes pots and pans, cleans up and stores equipment, washes and prepares utensils.
- Performs custodial duties such as mopping floors, washing walls, cleaning refrigerators.
- Assists in routine food preparation such as chopping and cleaning vegetables, dishing food into containers, and preparing fruit.
- Performs minor preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and fixtures.
- Assists campers/guests with meals.
- Sets up dining room for meal service including setting up tables, placing utensils and trays for use, serving bowls, etc.
Secondary Duties
- Performs any or all duties as required or requested by supervisor.
