As a member of the teaching team, the Floating Teacher Assistant helps to assure each child's health and safety, developmental and social/emotional needs are met.

Centers are open from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, year round.

Floating TAs need to have the flexibility to work any hours during these business hours.

Please note that all Teacher Assistants at South Shore Stars are required to take four college courses in Early Childhood Education within the first 18 months of employment (Child Development, Behavior Management in ECE, Preschool Curriculum and Health, Safety and Nutrition for ECE). The agency pays for the required courses including all fees and required text books.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be eligible to legally work in the United States.
• One year experience working with young children, preferred.
• EEC Teacher qualified, preferred.
• Fluency in any of these languages would be a plus:
• Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Haitian Creole.
