Flight Instructor positions require a 4-phase interview process (each phase must be satisfactory to move on to the next phase):
Phase 1:
Pass a 25-question, 30 minute online pre-interview screening test which is taken at home (we will send you an email to schedule this test).
Phase 2:
Initial conversation to discuss experience and qualifications and answer questions about the positions.
Phase 3:
If a candidate completes Phase 2: a mock ground lesson to teach a topic chosen by SMF staff (aerodynamics, weather, etc.) with one or more flight instructors.
Phase 4:
If a candidate completes Phase 3: a mock flight lesson to teach one or more maneuvers chosen by SMF staff (steep turns, slow flight, stalls, etc.) with one or more instructors.
