Firefighter/EMT Job at Burkeville Fire & EMS
Performs intermediate protective services work providing fire suppression, emergency medical care and hazardous materials handling usually under emergency conditions. A large percentage of calls are for emergency medical care. Duties include: emergency preparedness, community education, station and apparatus maintenance.
The job is physically demanding requiring lifting, climbing, crawling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Requirements: Must be 18-years or older; have a valid HSD [or GED]; VA driver’s license, EVOC 3, Firefighter 1 and EMT-B certifications. Applicants with ALS certifications qualify for higher pay scale, based on certification level.
The position is full-time, working 24-hours on/48-hour off shifts. Must work nights, week-ends and holidays. Benefits include: optional health insurance and retirement, paid time off, and monthly Kelly Day option. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.
