JOB SUMMARY

Under indirect supervision, Inspector Level 2 will be responsible for inspecting finished company products according to checklists, drawings, and/or inspection procedures using standard and non-standard physical/mechanical measurements and visual assessments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews inspection protocol and associated procedures and checklists prior to inspecting products.
  • Inspects assemblies to Servotronics and customer specifications
  • Uses gages, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools and devices to perform required inspections.
  • Performs detailed visual inspection of parts.
  • Ensures that all required inspection and test records and certifications are present and complete
  • Accurately documents the results of inspections.
  • Enters quality data and inspection results into the ERP/Quality Management System.
  • Documents non-conformances into the ERP/Quality Management System
  • Able to perform duties as a Designated Quality Representative (DQR) including interfacing with Customer Quality Management System(s) for documenting results
  • Able to assist in training individuals in areas including required inspection procedures and proficiency in performing Level 1 Final Inspector duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5 years minimum of quality and/or inspection experience required. A technical degree and 3 years of quality control inspection experience are preferred.
  • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive tasks, and have good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read and understand production drawings and blueprints. A basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to read and understand customer specifications and recognize non-conformances.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly to Manufacturing and QA personnel.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite inspection duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
