JOB TITLE: BANQUET ATTENDANT

USUAL TIME OF WORK SHIFT: Varies with facility needs. Some full-time positions and some part-time positions.

BREAKS: Two breaks, and one ½ hour lunch.

OVERTIME: Seldom, as necessary

MACHINES USED: Powered Industrial-size floor/carpet maintenance scrubbing & waxing machines, vacuum cleaners and related equipment.

TOOLS USED: Mops, brooms, general cleaning non-powered equipment

ASSISTIVE DEVICES: Cleaning supply pushcart, related equipment, Banquet keeping pushcart, step stools, chair dollies.

SAFETY CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT: Employee Uniform, protective gloves, eye protection, steel toed shoes, back brace.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PLACE/WORKSTATION:

The work takes place at a variety of locations at a hotel facility. The surfaces at the locations are cement, carpeted, tiled, or have wood flooring. Most of the work locations are both well-lit and temperature controlled. The Banquet Attendant may be exposed for limited periods of time to various weather conditions when cleaning landings and other outdoor areas. The areas where the Banquet Attendant performs most of the cleaning are banquet facilities, meeting rooms, bathrooms, lounges, lobbies, landings, elevators, stairways, and kitchens.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS/PURPOSE:
The Banquet Attendant’s primary responsibility is to clean and prepare areas at the resort facility where guests have spent or will spend time during banquet or related events. The Banquet Attendant devotes the workday to cleaning guest banquet and adjacent areas, rooms, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other common areas. Assists other staff, as required.

On a typical day, the Banquet Attendant performs the following duties:

1.Sets up/tears down and arranges furniture and banquet related equipment.
2.Hangs drapery
3.Polishes metalwork
4.Collects soiled linen
5.Stores linen supplies in linen closet
6.Replenishes bathroom supplies. Refurnishes guest areas with towels and other supplies
7.Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and polishing machines
8.Deep-cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and drapery using industrial cleaning equipment
9.Washes walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, sills, and woodwork
10.Empties waste baskets and ash trays
11.Empties trash in disposal area
12.Replaces light bulbs
13.Performs other duties as assigned by management
14.Consistently offers professional, friendly and engaging service
15.Assists guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
16.Follows banquet policies, procedures, and service standards
Associates must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by he company including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate Handbook.

Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable.
