Family Medical Doctor

Required License or Certification: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school with a board certification in Family Medicine; Licensed prescriber in State of Washington with active DEA registration; current license must maintain good standing with the State Licensing Board

THIRA Health seeks a contract Family Medical Doctor to provide advisory support to the Medical team (inclusive of nursing, dietary and psychiatric team). The Family Medical Doctor will provide onsite or remote consultation for staff & patients. If needed, they will provide direct patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advisory support to medical team
• Evaluate patients’ medical needs; prescribe & manage patient medical conditions while patients are enrolled in IOP or PHP level of care

• Collaborate with attending psychiatrist, PMHNP, Chief Medical Officer, medical team, and multidisciplinary clinical team to create treatment plans & implement recommendations
• Maintain medical/medication or lab data for patients in EMR patient charts
• Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding medical information as needed
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement in patient care and safety; assist in quality improvement initiatives and programs
• Collaborate with the medical team to update, amend, implement medical policies and procedures as needed

• Follow up on any medical/medication related issues as needed

THIRA’s Clinical Director, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, recently transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Our multi-disciplinary team is comprised of passionate clinicians from a variety of backgrounds in order to serve each individual in a holistic manner.
