This is a 3rd Shift Position, working 32 hours per week.

Job Summary: The Facilities Communication Specialist will be responsible for receiving information from hospital staff and visitors concerning repairs and unsafe conditions that need repair. To liaison between customers and facilities and follow up on repairs and services. To notify and report any dangerous or unsafe issues to the safety department and support security when needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Receive calls from customers and facility staff and relay information by page, phone, or overhead intercom.
  • Announce fire drills and activations, all information, and emergency codes via intercom.
  • Report elevator issues and/or entrapments to contractor and facilities.
  • Enter all work-orders into Maximo and forward information to mechanics.
  • Support Safety Technicians by answering calls when technicians are out of the office and check emergency
phones in elevators.
  • Conduct fire watch in construction areas inside the hospital when life safety protocol is initiated. Record and
report findings to the safety department.
  • Alarm monitoring by monitoring all emergency alerts for the fire system, all medical gas alarms, hospital
infant alarms and pneumatic tubing system alarms.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or recipient of GED required.
  • Vocational or technical training or degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year in customer service experience.
  • I year of multi-phone line or call center experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills, office, and telephone etiquette.
