Department Overview
The Utility Partnerships and Innovation (UPI) team is focused on the creation of transformative, scalable solutions to interlocking utility challenges through the development of third-party partnerships and the deployment of new technology and solutions that directly accelerates PG&E’s long-term strategy.

The New Revenue Development (NRD) organization is an entrepreneurial team in UPI whose purpose is to advance innovative uses of PG&E assets, resources, expertise and relationships. Through the products that NRD develops and manages, NRD has the opportunity to drive customer satisfaction, lower rates for PG&E’s customers, and generate positive net revenue for PG&E shareholders.

Position Summary
The Fiber Installation Manager, Expert’s primary function is to lead cross-functional work and initiatives through communication of complex non-tariffed third-party fiber project milestone activities with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This role manages & oversees multiple complex projects simultaneously and ensures improvements and changes to fiber processes and procedures are maintained, communicated and accurate in order to enhance efficiency or non-tariffed revenue opportunity for the fiber product line. The Fiber Installation Manager, Expert ensures NRD’s projects are implemented safely and without interference with PG&E’s ability to deliver reliable electric or gas service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission's General Orders, all safety regulations, and other regulatory requirements.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000

&/OR

California Minimum: $108,000
California Maximum: $173,000

Job Responsibilities
Works on fiber issues and projects that require analysis, diplomacy and judgment to obtain results or solutions by managing critical issues in accordance with contractual language dictated by the appropriate third-party agreement.
Facilitate and lead highly complex customer meetings and relationships cross-functionally with internal business units and external agencies.
Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule, including nights, being on call as well as responding to emergencies that may occur throughout our service territory.
Travels at least 30-40% of time with occasional overnight stays.
Emergency response duties, as assigned.
Applies knowledge of construction and utility standards to the analysis of third-party fiber routes or equipment located in underground electric facilities, on utility transmission structures or utility property.
Develops and oversees training for internal employees and external customers.
Participates in, facilitates and/or leads Telecom meetings in a forum that encourages speak up and free sharing of ideas and lessons learned to improve overall Fiber portfolio.
Leads development and delivery of new and innovative approaches, processes, technologies and tools for the most complex projects and initiatives.
Accountable for review & management of project costs.
Conduct research and analysis for development of business cases, recommendations or findings to support projects or initiatives to senior leadership.
Implements PG&E’s Contractor Safety Program and other Company-wide safety programs/procedures that impact fiber field operations.
Applies in-depth analysis or judgment in order to minimize risk and reach design and scoping solutions or results.

Qualifications

Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
9 years of related experience
CA Class C License, or equivalent

Desired:
BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Demonstrated project or program management experience.
Experience in field operations and maintenance.
Experience or extended knowledge of Lean operating system, especially Lean Problem Solving and Standard Work.
Knowledge of electrical and civil construction project practices. Familiarity with grounding procedures and methods.
Ability to provide guidance to field and office personnel. Coaching and consultative abilities.
Advanced influence, written and spoken communication, interpersonal, collaboration skills to effectively consult with peers and senior leadership.
Analytical, creative and intuitive problem-solving skills. Good investigative skills, knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and methodology.
Strong organizational skills.
Negotiation experience.
