Exchange Administrator

Job Description

The Exchange Administrator role is responsible for configuring, administering, maintaining and sustaining the Microsoft Exchange services. The Exchange Administrator will serve as a member of the M365 customer support team and play an important role in shaping the future functionality changes and user interaction evolution within 0365 Applications. A collaboration-minded professional who is self-motivated and self-directed will be successful in this role.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations Include, but are not limited to:

  • Should be able to work as individual with little supervision as well as a member of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Design, deploy, oversee, and maintain upgrades of server-related hardware and network embedded systems
  • High-level involvement with the management of data integrity, network security, server storage, and backup systems
  • Basic knowledge of administering a hybrid Exchange environment
  • Must be comfortable using PowerShell to accomplish tasks
  • Experience troubleshooting client access for Exchange 2016 and O365
  • Expertise in handling mail routing and mail-flow-related issues
  • Managing Mailbox databases/ Backups/ Repair/ Recovery
  • Knowledge of Windows Server (20016 and newer)- knowledge of Active Directory
  • Sound knowledge of email clients like Microsoft Outlook and OWA
  • Understands and adheres to the process and policies for both change management and problem management
  • Support end-users with answers to technical questions, describing best practices, and share that knowledge with end-users and team members

Position Requirements:

Preferred Experience:

  • Intermediate knowledge with supporting Proofpoint
  • Using and supporting the O365 technology stack
  • Configuring email gateways in a hybrid environment and with spam filters
  • Managing Exchange users in a hybrid environment
  • Understanding of mail connectors, mail routing, free/busy, email archiving, eDiscovery, DLP, and email encryption
  • Related work experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Creates, runs and troubleshoots complex Powershell scripts
  • Intermediate understanding of networking/distributed computing environments, the principles of routing, client/server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file systems
  • Provides on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a rotating basis
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or certifications, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standard
  • Immediate authorization to work in the US
  • Open to Hybrid/Remote work opportunities
