TITLE: ACCOUNT MANAGER

DIVISION: EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

REPORTS TO: Vice President Client Services – Providence RI

STATUS: FULL-TIME; EXEMPT

POSITION PURPOSE

1. Initial point of contact for employer groups/employees on escalated service related issues.

2. Foster long term relationships between Cross Employee Benefits- Wakefield, our clients and their employees.

3. Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with each insurance carrier to satisfy our clients’ needs and facilitate the processing of business.

4. Build solid partnership with Producers and Employee Benefits support Personnel.

5. Make a positive contribution to the overall success of the Cross Benefit Solutions team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Overall management and oversight related to agency accounts (exclusive of sales functions)

2. Marketing and Underwriting assistance for renewed accounts (Fully Insured and Self-Funded)

3. Collecting and reviewing census data during renewal / marketing

4. Spreadsheet and proposal preparation

5. Analytical Analysis of Benefit Options and Draft Client Presentation

6. Responsible for the successful and timely implementation of carrier change

7. Coordinate communication / enrollment materials

8. Present benefit details at employee open enrollment meetings

9. Order and WRAP Plan, SPD’s and 5500

10. Advocate for employer/employee issues

11. Intermediary between employer, employee and insurance carrier or TPA regarding dispute resolution

12. Work with clients and their outside advisers to identify compliance related concerns relating to benefit offering.

13. Certificate and contract review to assure benefits meet sales proposal and the expectations of the client

14. Maintain awareness of new developments or changes with the various carriers and new Federal/State laws that may affect how our clients must administer their benefit programs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

15. Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments as required.

16. Adhere to client service standards of the department and agency.

17. Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned.

18. Maintain BKB (Client Management Software) and adhere to best practice procedures tasks and file maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · College degree preferred, however at a minimum a high school diploma or equivalent degree and at least three years of experience in employee benefit account management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Massachusetts’s Producer Health, Life and Disability License.

· Possess communication skills necessary to communicate with insurance companies, clients and prospects concerning employee benefit lines of coverage.

· High level of patience and empathy while working under pressure.

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred, basic working knowledge required. Knowledge of Power Point preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to compose clear and accurate routine and non-routine correspondence.

· Ability to learn multiple new web applications for data entry

· Proficient in managing projects

· Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, responsive and self-motivated.

· Familiarity with the health insurance industry and New England carriers preferred.

· Team player and task oriented.

· Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,135.41 - $94,792.86 per year
