We are searching for an experienced Early Childhood Studies 101- Child, Family, & Community at our Santa Maria Campus facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

EARLY CHILDHOOD STUDIES 101, CHILD, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY COMMUNITY

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates for part-time ECS 101 instructors for the fall 2021 semester. This is a face-to-face class.

The class is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.

This course examines the processes of socialization focusing on the interrelationship of family, school, and community. Examines the influences of multiple societal contexts. Explores the role of collaboration between family, community, and schools in supporting children’s development.

SALARY:

  • Lecture Rate: $48.00 to $73.50 per hour depending upon education and experience
  • Lab Rate: $41.80 to $64.00 per hour depending upon education and experience
  • Activity and Non-Classroom Rate: $30.89 to $48.21 per hour depending upon education and experience

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Master’s in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/ family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education

OR

Bachelor’s in any of the above

AND

Master’s in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies or family and consumer studies

OR

the equivalent per Board Policy 7211.

Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, and to staff and students with disabilities.
