Job Summary
Saia is currently recruiting for a Dock Supervisor to join our team. This role will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in loading and unloading trucks and in moving and storing materials or products. Our supervisors will monitor shipments as freight moves through our terminal network while communicating with our associates and customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide planning, direction and control of all available resources for ensuring timely, damage-free loading/unloading of freight
- Supervise and coordinate activities of our dockworkers
- Train new employees in their job duties
- Ensure all work is performed according to company approved procedures, standards and specifications
- Performs additional duties as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of transportation and/or supervisory experience
- High school degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of the AS400 system
- Knowledge of MS office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
