Diversity Fellowship - Academic Affairs Job at Passaic County Community College
Passaic County Community College is seeking candidates who wish to develop teaching skills and pursue a career in higher education, starting with the Fall 2022 semester. The successful candidate will be appointed to the fellowship for one academic year.
The College has created this fellowship program to promote excellence in teaching, provide opportunities to establish careers, and increase diversity in the teaching ranks. Persons from racial and ethnic minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Candidates for the fellowship must be qualified to teach in one of the following academic disciplines:
- English
- Public Speaking
- Sociology
Examples of Duties:
- Teach nine (9) credit hours per semester under the guidance of a faculty mentor
- Schedule meetings with college president, vice presidents, academic deans, and Academic Council President
- Hold bi-weekly meetings with a faculty mentor
- Attend at least two (2) Academic Council meeting
- Attend one (1) meeting of an Academic Council sub-committee
- Meet with mentor to discuss one classroom observation
- Review Student Rating of Instruction
- Hold four (4) office hours per week for student consultation
- Participate in professional development activities
Qualifications:
- Master's degree awarded or enrolled in last semester of the Master's Program
- Strong written and oral communication skills
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
