The successful candidate will have previous hotel sales experience and should have a proactive selling mindset. They are able to implement ongoing strategic initiatives and have excellent leadership skills. They have the ability to illustrate value to customers, are adept at business development, creative, and have a willingness to grow and develop their skillset. They stay up-to-date on local, competitive, and industry trends and can pivot accordingly. They are thoughtful, collaborative, and a team player. They find ways to surprise guests/customers and deliver memorable experiences.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the hotel sales process.
  • Skill with social media marketing tools.
  • Competent with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office products, Opera, DELPHI FDC A MUST and other programs as needed.

Responsibilities for the Director of Sales include, but are not limited to:

  • Exceed revenue goals.
  • Identify new sources of business and establish account development cadence to maximize sales.
  • Impact occupancy over shoulder and low seasons.
  • Coordinate marketing and social media efforts.
  • Oversee and market hotel's guest activities program.
  • Participate in key networking events, sales calls, site inspections and client events.
  • Maintain account files and CRM database.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with all key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate communication between sales department and operating departments of the hotel to assure awareness of booking and sales programs.
  • Maintain a presence and support operational department with in-house guests and groups.
  • Maintain timely, responsive communication with accounts and prospects.
  • Build annual business plan and budget and update/maintain progress throughout the year.
  • Maintain and develop rapport with community leaders and local businesses.
  • Timely completion of all reports, internal requests, and special projects.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.

Prefer at least two + years of hotel sales experience and proven record of meeting sales goals, negotiating contracts, and developing marketing plans / strategies.
