To support our business, we are looking for a Director/ Head of IT

Position Summary:

The Director/ Head of IT is leading Datacolor’s global IT department with a team of 3, managing all aspects of IT in connection with infrastructure, security, hard- and software infrastructure from a strategic as well as operational point of view. The team of 3 staff is based out of New Jersey and China and managing the Datacolor’s organization of 15 legal entities. The role reports to the CFO in Switzerland.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing both short-term and long-term IT business goals and initiatives that align and fit the current and future organizational business strategy.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends hardware and software solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends areas and procedures where efficiency can be increased by utilization of state-of-the-art IT technology.
  • Leads in the planning, evaluation, design, development, and implementation of IT-solutions worldwide.
  • Manage the company's hardware, laptops, workplace equipment, printers etc. including some servers for all company footprints. negotiates and administers maintenance and purchase contracts for Hardware and Software
  • Manage relationships with external service providers, i.e., server hosts, ERP and BI programmers, software partners etc.
  • Ensure that the company's infrastructure is providing best possible efficiency to do successful business, questions current set up, plan, and execute changes to ensure efficiency or to bring standard up to a better level
  • Keep the company's security systems at the state-of-the-art level
  • Establishes and controls systems and procedures to ensure speed and integrity of informational workflow, software, files, reports, and documentation from a system point of view.
  • Evaluates and manages projects, priorities, and budget of the IT group, including ad-hoc groups for special projects.
  • Negotiates and administers maintenance and purchase contracts for hardware and software.
  • Provides ongoing liaison to internal user groups to ascertain needs and acceptance and to resolve problem situations.
  • Manage projects for the IT area and be sparring partner to work mates representing IT and infrastructure in operational questions and projects
  • Manage the budget for IT and its infrastructure globally
  • Responsible for the group's IT security, also train staff's awareness for phishing risks, responsible for updated disaster recovery
  • Manages and evaluates subordinates.
  • Provides regular (quarterly) activity and progress reports to CFO and management.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields.
  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in managing your own team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Must have hands on experience in problem solving and project management.
  • Must be able to work with globally dispersed teams.
  • Experience in working in a global and diverse environment.
  • Experience and track record in business and/or IT is including leadership roles in digital technologies, CRM, analytics, and the integration of information to provide business insights.
  • Strong understanding of global commercial business processes and operations.
