Cranford Park Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dietary Team. As a Cook you will oversee and ensure effective food preparation and service during your shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled time frame.
  • Follows menu cycle, noting changes or substitutions made on proper form.
  • Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas.
  • Complies with state sanitation codes.
  • Maintains inventory control, places food order, verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks kitchen shelves appropriately.
  • Directs food service and dining service functions.
  • Maintains the quantity of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents.
  • Ensures that resident food preferences are known and followed.
  • Maintains meal service records as required.
  • Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food service and communicates them appropriately to Food Service Director
  • Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members.
  • Records resident information, as required.
  • Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.
  • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independent, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Knowledge of specialty diets and textures.
  • Performs other tasks/duties as assign

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification in healthcare cooking (ServSafe or Sodexo)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in large-scale cooking
  • Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep
  • Must be able to do some physical work
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Will manage Kitchen in absence of food service director

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
