Responsible for leading the inventory control and shipping / receiving team in the Distribution Center and Punch Lok to ensure inventory accuracy by reviewing existing standard operating procedures and developing new procedures to facilitate continuity within the company’s ERP system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures standard written processes are fully developed and are being followed for accurate and complete receiving operations to ensure timely flow of any raw material or components are processed on behalf of both the DC and Punch-Lok.
  • Manages the staffing needs necessary to ensure the staff and their abilities are being utilized in the best possible manner to support PT’s vision, mission and core values.
  • Establishes raw material and component inventory locations to ensure seamless integration with each production operation division.
  • Maintains accurate records of all incoming raw materials and components by ensuring each is within its proper location, performing cycle counts routinely, and managing inventory movement.
  • Coordinates with DC and Punch-Lok leadership to develop inventory locations for all finished goods throughout the DC and Punch-Lok.
  • Establishes an ongoing schedule for cycle counts of all finished goods to verify the accuracy of all internal counts.
  • Researches all inventory variances, takes any necessary steps to correct counts as needed, performs root cause analysis in hopes of preventing it from occurring again.
  • Certifies each member of his team adheres to all corporate safety policies and ensures safety training including toolbox talks are being completed in compliance with our standards.
  • Oversees all material handling for PTDC and Punch-Lok to ensure adequate records are being kept for all material / stocking moves from one location to the next.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages all material handling personnel for PTDC and Punch-Lok including receiving, forklift drivers, etching employee as needed, and floor internal shipping / material handlers. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift license and general knowledge / understanding of all forklift safety protocols is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read documents and inspect for product defect, distance vision to identify product stored out of reach, peripheral vision for safety, depth perception for counting and verifying counts of product, and ability to adjust focus to go from reading to product identity quickly.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extremem heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud from machinery noises.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Degree in Business or equivalent experience of at least 5 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to rread, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
