The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Rheumatology is seeking a Research Data Analyst 1 to manage and analyze large amounts of information, typically technical or scientific in nature, under the direction of project researchers, investigators, or managers. This position will support the Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) Research program. The ideal candidate will have master’s level training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics. This position will work under our team’s epidemiologist and primarily be responsible for managing and linking several databases (across surveys and our biobank). They will also contribute to clinical research analyses and publications (using epidemiologic study designs, including regression techniques); authorship opportunities may be available. Desired qualifications include someone who is proficient in R and/or SAS statistical analysis software and has demonstrated experience using the REDCap data collection software platform. We are seeking someone who has a strong interest in clinical medicine, particularly in post-infectious neuropsychiatric conditions, and is willing to work across our clinical, basic science and research teams. They should have a willingness to be flexible as they will be part of a small team in which all members have diverse roles. A hybrid or remote work agreement may be considered for this position.

Duties include:

  • Collect, manage and clean datasets.
  • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data.
  • Create databases and reports, develop algorithms and statistical models, and perform statistical analyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements.
  • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and determine root cause for data problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest possible solutions.
  • Develop reports, charts, graphs and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation.
  • Analyze data processes in documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods.
  • Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters or advanced education in Epidemiology and/or Biostatistics. R and /or SAS Statistical analysis. Demonstrated experience using REDCap data collection software platform. Interest in clinical medicine, particularly post-infectious neuropsychiatric conditions- willing to work access clinic, basic science, and research teams. Manuscript/publication experience-with possible authorship opportunities.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, engineering, epidemiology or biostatistics.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Willingness and ability to work cross functionally on a small, productive team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely writing by hand.
