Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides potential and current customers information about a variety of insurance products and service options available.
  • Opens and maintains customer accounts by entering and maintaining account information
  • Seeks to resolve customer complaints regarding product or service problems
  • Maintains customer accounts, and processes customer adjustments as needed.
  • Answer product, pricing, and availability inquiries.
  • Calculates and submits insurance quotes
  • Enters and maintains information using insurance company website
  • Processes customers paperwork and maintains customer files.
  • Performs data entry and maintains data integrity using Paperport paperless system, as well as other systems as needed, be proficient with QQCatalyst agency management system.
  • Performs a variety of clerical responsibilities, such as answering phones, filing, data entry, using 10-key calculator, scanning documents.
  • Prepares checks and reconciles financial transactions using Quickbooks
  • Processes invoices and manages the collection and reconciliation of funds collected both from customers, as well as funds collected via payroll deduction.
  • Prepares Profit and Loss Statements and other various reports as needed
  • Meets with customers and various field representatives
  • Provides quality customer service
  • Develops, formats, edits and creates memos, letters, reports, labels, and other documents as deemed appropriate
  • Serves as a back-up to Department Manager, as needed.
  • Weekly cleaning of the office ie; sweeping, bathroom, dusting etc.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. At least one year of current, work related clerical and administrative experience required.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of QuickBooks highly preferred.


Certificates and Licenses: Preferred Current Property and Casualty license required; or must be able to obtain within six months from employment start date.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
