OVERVIEW

  • Performs basic life support, advance life support and critical care nursing.
  • Provides direct patient care to the ill and injured during the transport and the local EMS transport and treatment protocols.
  • Functions understanding orders of the physician or the medical director.
  • Performs assessments, treats, and monitors patients during inter-facility transports.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • You are a graduate from an accredited RN program and have current licensure.
  • Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU or ED RN experience, which includes the following management of:
    • Unstable adult cardiac patient
    • Unstable patient of other etiologies
    • Patient requiring mechanical ventilator support
    • Patient requiring invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • Critical care transfer experience preferred

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • You have and maintain the following certifications:
    • BLS
    • ICS courses, please refer to link http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp
      • IS-100B (ICS 100)
      • IS-200B (ICS 200)
      • IS-700A (NIMS)
      • IS-800B (NIMS)
    • Current CPR certification
    • CCT orientation and training program
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS-C (or equivalent) provider status (license may vary depending on specialty)
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • PHTLS Certification desired
    • CEN, CCRN, TNCC or ENC Certification
    • Preferred:
      • BTLS
      • PHTLS
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider), it can be acquired within first 6 months of hire

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • You are able to guide patients and their families as they experience treatment plans, which can be medically complex at times. You’re able to break down technical information in a way that everyone can clearly understand. You’re able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • You are able to help your patients feel at ease and less alone by showing your passion for nursing. You’re able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, and co-workers.
  • You’re able to collaborate with everyone to ensure the patient’s care needs are met in an efficient, timely manner.
