SALARY INFORMATION: $45,000 Annual/Pay Grade J

Job Responsibilities

The Health Equity Navigators will assist in community outreach and engagement, training, and support in connecting community members with resources and services among populations at higher risk and that are underserved, racial and ethnic minority populations, and rural communities. Navigators will also assist with improving testing and contact tracing among populations at higher risk and that underserved, including racial and ethnic minorities and rural communities, and addressing vaccine hesitancy within these communities. The Health Equity Navigators will be assigned to one of the 18 local public health districts, will work in the field and/or in the office of their local public health department, and will be supported by Health Equity Program Coordinators and District Liaison.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in public health education from an accredited college or university AND One year of public health education experience OR Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in public health education.

Additional Information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants current or recent graduate students majoring in Public Health, social work, sciences or a closely related field. Registered nurses, health educators, social workers, and former public health employees with ability to travel daily to perform work preferred. Preference will also be given to bilingual speaking candidates. Experience working with healthcare providers and/or community organizations in Georgia. Experience delivering training sessions on public health-related topics is also preferred
