We have an opportunity for a Court Services Assistant. We are seeking organized, customer service inclined individuals who will perform specialized clerical work in support of court operations and support services activities. The ideal candidate will possess a High School diploma/GED and at least two years of clerical experience, which includes providing customer service in a professional work environment and knowledge of preparing and/or processing legal documents.

We have vacancies for the following court locations: Banning, Blythe, Corona, Hemet, Indio, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Palm Springs, Riverside, and Temecula.

Essential Employment
Court operations are considered essential for our constitutional form of government in providing due process and protecting the public. Therefore, all Court employees are considered essential employees as they deliver statutorily mandated, time-sensitive and emergency services in times of local, state and national emergencies. This position is not eligible for full-time teleworking.

Public Safety
The Superior Court of California, County of Riverside continues to follow all California Department of Public Health/ CalOSHA guidelines, and state and local public health orders to ensure the safety of all court users, judicial officers and employees while balancing access to justice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Selection Procedures:
Step I: All applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; those qualified candidates will be referred to step II in the selection process.

Step II: Those candidates that are successful in the previous step may be invited to take a pass/fail online assessment. A validation assessment may be performed at any point during the recruitment. Those candidates passing the examination may be referred to step III in the selection process.

Step III: Those candidates successful in the previous step, may be invited to participate in an oral panel interview exam (weight 100%) conducted in person or virtually using Zoom or WebEx. Those candidates who are successful in the interview may be placed on an eligible list. Placement on an eligible list is not a guarantee of employment.

Additional steps for the selection process will include a drug test, background and reference checks.

MEDICAL PLAN and Dental PLAN

The Court offers medical and dental plans.

Employees may waive the Court-offered Medical and Hospital Plan, if they provide proof of other current “group” health plan coverage.

(MEDICAL FLEXIBLE BENEFIT PROGRAM)

The Court contributes an amount each month, which is determined by the “Type of Enrollment” on behalf of each regular employee in a paid status, who is enrolled in one of the medical and hospital plans provided by the Superior Court of California, County of Riverside.

(MEDICAL SUBSIDY)

The Court will provide a subsidy to offset out of pocket cost of the medical premiums.

VISION PLAN

The Court’s offers a vision plan.

VACATION/SICK LEAVE PROGRAM

Employees in this job class accrue vacation/sick leave; pro-rated if less than full time.

SHORT TERM DISABILITY

Employees participate and pay into the CA Short Term Disability Program.

LIFE INSURANCE

Court pays a basic term life insurance policy for each LIUNA employee.

RETIREMENT

Participation in Public Employee’s Retirement System (PERS).

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

EAP is a benefit provided by Superior Court of California, County of Riverside for all employees.

HOLIDAYS

Generally thirteen days per year. Employees are entitled to eight (8) hours of holiday pay for each court recognized holiday.
