We are looking for an experienced ‘hands on” Cost Manager with 3+ years of experience in a multi-corporate construction and engineering environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with all aspects of project accounting including revenue recognition, WIP, job cost and invoicing and excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written). The Kiely Family of Companies serves a purpose that’s bigger than any person, project, or company. We are looking for a driven hands-on Cost Engineer with 5+ years of experience in estimating and construction management. The ideal candidate will have experience with all phases of the construction lifecycle from estimating through project closeout. This role will be required to interact with all levels of the organization and will help advance the project management discipline.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Support business unit leads in usage of operational and accounting systems (Sage, HCSS, etc.)
  • Prepare and maintain business scorecards and other performance related reports
  • Track change orders, and maintain revenue and cost tracking through project life cycle
  • Assist in efforts for cost and scheduling integration during project planning
  • Review design changes and field conditions for potential cost impact
  • Drive feedback between project management and estimating processes by maintaining company cost metrics
  • Identify and implement best practices related to cost management across business units
  • Lead job closeout meetings for completed projects
  • Partner with finance to ensure accurate and timely reporting of business performance; assist unit leads with monthly business reviews
  • Review and analysis job cost reports, vendor invoices and timesheets to project accuracy and to locate anomalies / project challenges, share info with project managers
  • Assist with / support billing requirements following contract terms and business requirement

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 to 5 years’ experience of estimating
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
  • Work experience with estimating and construction management software, experience with Timberline (Sage 300) and/or Vista (Viewpoint) preferred
  • Problem Solving/Analysis; ability to research and analyze various types of data
  • Demonstrated strong time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office 365 suite, include Teams and Sharepoint
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and CAD drawings
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Familiar with constructions contracts, change orders language (legal side or projects)
