Overview:
BMTX is seeking a fully remote Corporate Accounting and Reporting Manager to support the VP, Assistant Controller in managing the accounting operations and financial reporting of the Company through functional, technical, and process leadership across corporate accounting and internal financial reporting. You will partner with stakeholders across the Company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to develop and execute initiatives that will streamline, automate, and improve the accuracy of the close to report process. The Corporate Accounting and Reporting Manager will oversee our Banking-as-a-service partners, billing, AR & collections, Vendor management and AP process, and month end journal entries / reconciliations. This position will also partner with the team closely involved in the monthly, quarterly & annual close and financial statements. The Corporate Accounting and Reporting Manager must be comfortable with both high-level processes and detail, working closely with all levels and across teams.

The ideal candidate possesses public accounting and corporate accounting experience, with experience working at a publicly traded company.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the monthly financial close process. Owns the general ledger and recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
  • Performs and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing activities.
  • Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Clearly communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
  • Ensures team deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met.
  • Oversees the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Supports SEC reporting processes. Liaises with the Company’s independent auditors and supports the timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audit.
  • Ensures accurate/timely direct and indirect tax reporting and payment and identification of any changes in regulations or exposure that could impact the Company.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the assessment, design, and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements. Monitors ongoing compliance, makes recommendations for, and helps implement improvements.
  • Leads continuous improvement in the areas of accounting operations and financial reporting process/systems to increase automation and scale.
  • Assists in the identification, analysis, and implementation of revenue generating or expense saving opportunities in the Company.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting and Finance Department.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or MBA is required.
  • 5-10 years of relevant and progressively responsible corporate accounting and reporting experience within a publicly traded company environment required.
  • Supervisory/managerial experience required.
  • Public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Direct accounting operations experience including general ledger close, billing, fee processing, receivables and payables management, treasury and working capital management, audit, and compliance.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems required with preference for Oracle PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with ERP system implementation/enhancements preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintains a consistently positive and professional demeanor and communicates effectively with both financial and non-financial professionals.
